Abstract

Based on Urvillea sparrei Barkl., the new combiriation Houssayanthus sparrei (Barkl.) Ferrucci is established; its taxonomy is discussed in relation to the other species of the genus: H. macrolophus (Radlk.) Hunzik. and H. fiebrigii (Barkl.) I.-Iunzik. Chromosome. number of H. sparrei is reported (12 II). A new name, Serjania herteri Ferrucci is proposed for S. australis (St. Hil.) Herter non Spreng.
