The objective of this work is to establish a conceptual approach between Critical Management Studies and people analytics, addressing three dimensions: power, control, and resistance. To this end, the work is divided into four sections. In the first, a review of the trajectory of Critical Management Studies is carried out, starting from its emergence, the so-called first and second waves, and its current development. A review of the main criticisms of the field of study is included, and as an alternative, the concept of critical performativity is put forward. In the second section, the foundations of critical HR management are explained as an alternative through which aspects outlined in this work are evidenced, such as disconnected capitalism, biopower, neo-normative control mechanisms, and subtle forms of management, including engagement and employer branding. In the third section, both algorithmic management and people analytics are defined in the context of critical HR management. Finally, in a preliminary theoretical approach to addressing people analytics from Critical Management Studies, the concepts of power, control, and resistance are developed.
