An experience carried out in the area of Electromechanical and Chemical Engineering, careers that are studied at the FRRe-UTN, is described. The main objective is to develop a pedagogical tool that integrates the use of new technologies with the virtual classroom, concepts of Thermodynamics and Automation. Experience allows improving teaching practice through the use of strategies based on inquiry and experimentation. Formal and theoretical aspects are integrated relating physical phenomena observed in the real world. It is assumed that the learning subject finds it confusing to relate fundamental laws of thermodynamics with physical phenomena. In order to facilitate the learning of concepts related to body heating and control techniques, a laboratory consisting of hardware, free software and a digital temperature sensor is developed. The development enables the quantification and control of a relatively simple physical phenomenon through variable temperature control techniques.
