Bonplandia

Bonplandia is a publication of the Instituto de Botánica del Nordeste (UNNE-CONICET, Corrientes, Argentina) founded in 1960. It is a journal open to original articles on taxonomy, anatomy, morphology, physiology, genetics, cytogenetics, applied biotechnology and functional genomics, ethnobotany, palynology, floristics, ecology and other areas of plant biology, referring to all groups of plants and related organisms (cyanobacteria, algae, fungi and lichens), both present and fossil. The articles of our journal are focused on the aforementioned disciplines covering the American continent. An annual volume is published with two biannual issues, one in February and the other in August. Starting with volume 30, Bonplandia will implement the modality of early publication for those articles that have completed the entire editorial process; that is to say, the final version of the article will be published online with the corresponding DOI. No modifications or corrections may be included after this stage. In this way, digital articles published in advance will be available before the print publication date of each issue (February and August).

Manuscripts are submitted to a refereeing system before being accepted by external reviewers. The editing process includes different stages: a preliminary evaluation of the manuscript (topic, quality and presentation) by the associate editors and the editor, then the evaluation of the content by two external referees (single blind refereeing) with the final decision of the editor. Proofreading is performed by the editor, responsible editor and technical editor. Review of galley proofs by the author and the journal editors.
