Abstract

Based on herbarium specimens collected in our country, Eriobotrya japonica(Thunb.) Lindl. (Rosaceae) is mentioned for the first time as naturalized plant in Argentina. Ecological observations and information about various local uses are included. The species is described and illustrated.
