A synthesis of the state of knowledge that exist in Paraguay about the life and work of Aimé Bonpland, who lived in the country about 10 years, is here presented. The objectives were to highlight the importance of his work as a plant taxonomist and his interest in the use of plants in general, in addition to dedicate him a simple tribute. For all this, the specialized bibliography, online databases and fascicles of the Flora of Paraguay were consulted, and national herbaria were revised. As a result, two lists were compiled: a non-exhaustive list of the species he determined species in the Paraguayan flora and, as a tribute to its legacy, a list of the genera and epithets of the vascular plant species of the Paraguayan flora that were dedicated to him. This work concludes with the unknown quantity and destination of species collected in Paraguay.Downloads
