From desired tunnelling to posible integration. Railway lessons from the city of Valladolid (Spain)

After researching urban-railway experiences in middle-sized cities of Spain, the article explores the difficulties of Valladolid City to achieve the railway integration. From this case of study, the objective of the work is to expose good and bad practices of planning to contribute with the railway challenges of other cities. The research has a mixed methodological approach with several techniques: documentary analysis, field work, key informant interviews and press survey results. The text introduces the problem and the background, explains the theoretical and methodological framework, develops the results of the case of Valladolid in a chronological way and discusses the results to conclude with some generalizable premises.
