Resumo

Este artigo examina as ideias de Otto Neurath sobre a democratização do planejamento urbano, desenvolvidas por meio de sua intervenção em processos de planejamento em Viena (Áustria) no início da década de 1920 e em Bilston (Reino Unido) em meados da década de 1940. Pretende-se mostrar que Neurath defende um modelo humanista, pluralista, democrático e antitecnocrático de planejamento urbano, no qual a educação e o livre acesso ao conhecimento desempenham um papel destacado. Para tanto, adota-se a metodologia da reconstrução histórico-sistemática, que possibilita a compreensão do modelo neurathiano no contexto histórico e intelectual em que se desenvolve e, ao mesmo tempo, permite entendêlo como uma contribuição relevante para a reflexão e o debate sobre o planejamento urbano no contexto contemporâneo.

Doctor en Filosofía (FFyH-UNC) y arquitecto (FADU-UNL). Docente e investigador de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral y de la Universidad Católica de Santa Fe. Subdirector del Instituto de Historia, Teoría y Crítica de la Arquitectura y el Patrimonio (UCSF Sede Rafaela). Miembro del Instituto de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales (UNL-CONICET). Docente de posgrado en el Doctorado en Ingeniería (UTN-FRSF), en el Doctorado de Humanidades (FHUC-UNL) y en la Maestría en Arquitectura (FADU-UNL).
