In this paper, we present progress within the framework of the doctoral project "Appropriation of Digital Technologies in Basic Education for Youth and Adults, Emerging Modalities due to COVID-19." We propose the construction of an ethnographic-qualitative approach to understand the relationship between the implementation of a specific educational policy for this modality in the context of the educational emergency and the processes of digital technology appropriation. We address progress in analyzing the documentary repertoire of a local experience, aiming to recover the technological imaginaries employed by students and members of the technical team of the Literacy and Basic Education Program for Youth and Adults during April 2020.
