Errors in the pre-analytical stage can reach values of 70%, affecting subsequent stages with a risk to patient safety. It is essential to ensure the correct identification of patients. Computer tools help in this process and can be subject to cybernetic attacks. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance level of a quality indicator of the pre-analytical stage, observing a decrease in its value during the months in which the patient admission control system of the Hospital Dr Julio C Perrando (HJCP) in the city of Resistencia, Chaco, suffered a cybernetic attack.
