Abstract

Aspidosperma quirandy Hassl. is reestablished as a different taxon from Aspidosperma tomentosum Mart. Updated descriptions from both taxa, an identification key, ecological observations and new reference material are presented. The typification of four names described by Hassler based on material from Paraguay are resolved, designating a lectotype for Aspidosperma quirandy, and presenting second-step lectotypifications for Aspidosperma quirandy var. campestre Hassl., Aspidosperma quirandy var. silvaticum Hassl., and Aspidosperma rojasii Hassl.
