Abstract

This article analyzes the ways in which the stereotype of the housewife appears overflowing in two poems by Fernanda Laguna: La ama de casa (1999), a plaquette published by Belleza y Felicidad, and “Manifiesto re-volutivo 2001” (2012) which is part of her poetry collection published by Mansalva. The hypothesis that encourages our writing is that in these writings it would be possible to observe the use of the commonplace endowed with “anomalous potencies” (Giordano, 1998) capable of moving the images that have crystallized culturally. Thus, far from assuming the stereotype of the housewife or subverting it and operating with anti-stereotypes, we consider that the poems chosen put them into play. We also suppose that it is from within the language and the norms of the commonplace that these poems dispute, with full awareness of the performative force of language and gender, other possible spaces and statements.
