The work En misión a Misiones presents a synthesis of the stories and experiences of the official of the Swiss government Luis Ferrari as Commissary of Swiss emigration in Argentina in his trip by the National Territory of Missions. During his trip, he collected valuable information about the living conditions of these groups of immigrants, the main difficulties they faced in adapting to an environment very different from the one they were accustomed to in Europe, the diseases of tropical climates, the most frequent practices for the preservation of their identity traits and cultural patterns, and the difficulties in maintaining ties with their native land, etc.
