Abstract

In this article I analyze the student demonstrations in Corrientes and Resistencia, between 1966 and 1973, during the dictatorship self-proclaimed as "Revolución Argentina". I will inquire on the forms of student action, the political and ideological trends that shaped the student movement, and then I will compare them with other experiences. For this purpose, I present qualitative and quantitative data on actions of student struggle, constructed with information from the newspapers El Territorio, Norte, and Litoral, as well as a database on student conflicts. The contribution consists in demonstrating the importance of the action of the university reformism and the Marxist left during the period of greater radicalism of the student movements of Argentina, after the Cordobazo. The latter is an element that contributes to rethink critically the hypotheses of common use on the students’ peronization, and the idea that the politicization of the students distracted attention from the problems related to the university.
