Evaluación de la mutagenicidad del herbicida glifosato en Prochilodus lineatus a través del test de micronúcleos

Resumen

El uso de plaguicidas puede afectar el ecosistema acuático. A través del suelo, estos contaminantes se drenan a los ríos y lagunas. En la Argentina, agroquímicos a base de glifosato como el Roundup, se utilizan ampliamente en actividades agrícolas. Considerando esto, el objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar los efectos genotóxicos de Roundup Full II® en células sanguíneas de ejemplares juveniles de Prochilodus lineatus. Los peces se expusieron a las concentraciones de 0,025 μg/L, 0,05 μg/L y 0,1 μg/L de glifosato (Roundup Full II) durante 7 días. Después de este período, para la preparación de los frotis se extrajo de los peces sangre por punción de la vena caudal. El análisis de los frotis reveló la ocurrencia de células con micronúcleos, células binucleadas, lobulaciones nucleares (Lobed nuclei; blebbed nuclei), muescas nucleares (notched nuclei), vacuolas nucleares, microcitos, brotes y núcleos con puente. El estudio estadístico mostró diferencias significativas entre los grupos de control y los tratados. De esta manera, los resultados sugieren la existencia de un daño en el material genético causado por la exposición de los peces al pesticida.
