Loessian soils occupy a large part of the province of Córdoba and are prone to collapse caused by volumetric changes in the presence of water. Besides, the El Niño phenomenon triggered 2014 to be the year with the highest rainfall in the last 40 years. This situation caused the rise or the water table in a large area of the southeastern province. The increase in the moisture content of the soil generated a decrease in its bearing capacity, causing differential settlements of the structure supported on it. This article details the causes of the settlements produced inas a 3-story building in the town of Monte Maíz, province of Córdoba, along with the proposed alternative solution. Also, the verification and reinforcement project of the mezzanine slabs with flexural cracks is included, due to the possible change of use of the same.
