“Hijos mateando en la cocina”: lamborghinian intrusions in the gauchesca and the classical literature

Abstract

This essay deals with the intertextual relations of a section of Odiseo confinado with Odyssey and El Gaucho Martín Fierro in terms of rewriting by tangency and rewriting by intrusion, both theoretical terms proposed by Leónidas Lamborghini himself. Based on the analysis of excerpts of the poem, it is found that the author recovers certain elements of the gauchesca and the classical tradition as pre-texts to give rise to an original proposal in which it is possible to identify the forrerunners and to visualize the procedures that provide them with other nuances and games of meaning.
