ORCID identifier

What is ORCID and why is it important?

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a persistent and unique identifier for researchers that allows them to be distinguished from other authors with similar or identical names, and reliably consolidates their academic output, research activities, and editorial participation. This global infrastructure is widely adopted by journals, indexers, institutional repositories, and research management systems to improve the accuracy of authorship metadata and facilitate academic recognition.

Why do we request it in this journal?

At Folia Histórica del Nordeste, we require the ORCID iD of each author to:

Ensure the correct identification of each scientific contribution.

Enrich the metadata of articles for indexing in international databases.

Facilitate the automatic linking of publications with research profiles.

Improve the visibility and monitoring of authors' production at the international level.

How to register or connect your ORCID?

If you do not yet have an ORCID, you can create one for free

If you already have one, enter it during the manuscript submission process in OJS or when attaching your profile to the journal.

The journal will display your ORCID iD next to your name on the article page and in your public profile.

How do we use your ORCID iD?

Once authenticated, your ORCID iD will be displayed with an icon linked to your public profile on ORCID.org and will be integrated into your article's metadata, facilitating the indexing, retrieval, and tracking of your output on platforms such as Crossref, DOAJ, and OpenAIRE.
