Abstract

Three new species of PhaeostemmaE. Fourn. (Apocynaceae, Asclepiaoideae), are described and illustrated. The three species were collected in eastern or southeastern Brazil, the first one in the state of Rio de Janeiro and the second one in the state of Paraná; the third species, P. kelleriMorillo, found in three localities of the Province of Misiones (Argentina) and one locality in State of São Paulo (Brazil), represents the first record of Phaeostemmafor the Argentinean Flora. Although few populations are known, and the information in relation to several species is incomplete, a preliminary key is included to facilitate the identification of the recognized taxa
