Anti-Plagiarism Policy

In accordance with its Code of Ethics and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) International Principles of Transparency and Good Practice in Academic Publishing, Folia Histórica del Nordeste applies a specific policy for detecting and managing plagiarism in all contributions received.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to an originality check prior to the start of the peer review process, in order to guarantee the originality of the works and the correct attribution of the sources used. To this end, the Editorial Secretariat uses similarity and plagiarism detection tools, including PaperRate, Quetext Plagiarism Checker, and Plagiarisma, among others.

For the purposes of this policy, plagiarism is considered to be any form of total or partial reproduction of texts, ideas, or data from third parties without the corresponding citation, as well as self-plagiarism, understood as the unjustified reuse of materials previously published by the author(s) themselves.

If significant coincidences or overlaps are detected, the Editorial Secretariat will inform the author(s) involved, giving them the opportunity to provide an explanation or make the necessary corrections within the established deadlines.

If the observations are not satisfactory, or if plagiarism is found at any stage of the editorial process, the manuscript will be rejected. In more serious situations, or when the ethical breach is considered manifest, the journal may terminate the editorial process of the article, without prejudice to any other measures it deems appropriate in accordance with good editorial practices.
