Abstract

This article explores the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as a co-design tool in social design projects within the framework of university education at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the National University of the Northeast (FAU-UNNE). The objective is to analyze how AI can accelerate community diagnosis and visual prototyping without replacing co-creation with social actors. Based on a bibliographic analysis that integrates contributions on technical efficiency, artificial creativity, technological literacy, social innovation, technological critique from the periphery, and participatory methodologies in the Argentine context, AI is defined as an analytical and situated tool. A four-phase pedagogical model is proposed, ethical risks are identified, and it is concluded that AI does not replace project-based judgment nor community engagement.
