Triumfetta gelinae (Malvaceae, Grewioideae, Apeibeae), a new species discovered in a little explored area from Anta department, Salta province, Argentina, is described. It is distinguished by its sepals bearing a comparatively long subapical appendage, the absence of petals, and numerous stamens. It is compared to the only two apetalous species recorded in the Americas, T. lappula and T. decaglandulata. A description, illustrations, a distribution map, taxonomic comments, and, an identification key to the species of Triumfetta in Argentina are provided.
