Crisis of Justicialist Party in Santiago del Estero, restructuring of provincial Peronism and integration into the Frente Cívico (2004-2005)

Abstract

The restructuring of provincial Peronism after the party and political crisis generated by the Federal Intervention of 2004 was studied. The paper engages with empirical contributions on partisan politics at the subnational level. The process was reconstructed and the key relationships between political actors and groups within the PJ and Peronism in the province were described during the period. Based on the analysis of information from the santiagueña and national press and semi - structured interviews with its political actors. The research focused on the disputes over the control of organisational resources of party, as well as on the modes of disputes between political groups and the moment of resolution or integration within the Frente Cívico.
