Abstract

Governance is seen as the art of governing well or the exercise of good governance to produce the results that society expects from its rulers. This research evaluates the level of achievement of the governance indicators, in accordance with the model applied by the World Bank Institute (IBM, 2017), in the municipality of Valledupar, Colombia. A quantitative design was applied,
the type of research is descriptive and proactive, new forms of application of knowledge are proposed to the reality found at the local level to improve the living conditions of the citizens. The applied instrument was structured based on the six indicators proposed by the IBM, and another one related to the attitude of the local administration was added, to adapt the governability to the new scenario resulting from the agreements between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Colombian Armed Forces. (FARC). The information obtained by the researchers was systematized, processed, analyzed and interpreted, and a series of instruments, strategies and dynamics are proposed to the Municipal Administration that will help improve the governance and social support indexes of the municipal public policies that contribute in strengthening a constructive peace scenario in the post-conflict.
